COUNTRY ranked No. 1 in complaint ratio in Illinois
COUNTRY Financial is ranked No. 1 with the lowest complaint ratio among Illinois auto and life insurers in 2010, according to the Illinois Department of Insurance.
COUNTRY has had the lowest auto complaint ratio for 11 of the past 12 years. For every $1 million in written auto premiums, it had .04 complaints, the lowest among the report's other 50 insurers.
COUNTRY Life also had the lowest complaint ratio among 34 companies at .12 per $1 million in written premiums. Prior to 2010, COUNTRY Life did not appear in the ranking because the IDOI received fewer than 10 complaints. IDOI officials changed the ranking system last year to list companies for which they received five or more written complaints.
Among home insurers, COUNTRY ranked second, with a complaint ratio of .23 for every $1 million in written home premiums. The company has ranked in the top two home insurers for the past 12 years.
"Our clients know that they get more than an insurance policy when they do business with COUNTRY," said John Blackman, the company's CEO. "We build long-lasting relationships with our clients, who can rely on 86 years of experience from people they know and trust."
