Crete Carrier Corp. names Berst 'driver of month'
Vandalia resident, Robert Berst, has been named "driver of the month" at the Crete Carrier Corp. terminal in Indianapolis.
Berst, who started driving for Crete Carrier 12 years ago, has logged 1.5 million miles. For the award, he received a plaque, and he will compete with other monthly winners for the company's "driver of the year" award.
"Bob is one of the best," said fleet manager Donna Jenkins-Moore. "He is averaging 11,000 miles a month, while being safe and legal. He is customer-friendly and works well with dispatch."
To be named driver of the month, drivers must be accident-free for the month of recognition, maintain mileage requirements, keep accurate logs and warrant no disciplinary actions.
Crete Carrier  has 17 terminals and 3,700 trucks.
