Snider named FCH employee of month

Brandy Snider, certified nurse aide, has been named employee of the month at Fayette County Hospital and Long Term Care.

Snider, who works in Long Term Care, was cited by CEO Greg Starnes for her ability to "provide care professionally, competently and compassionately."
He added: "Her co-workers appreciate the ways that Brandy goes above and beyond to provide excellent care to the facility's residents. She is a great mentor to new employees, is very positive and cares deeply about the residents, their families and her co-workers."
She received a framed certificate, a $50 gift card, a balloon and a large cake to share with other members of the LTC staff.

Eagles, Shriners to hold fundraiser

The Eagles and Shriners of Vandalia will hold a fundraising event this Saturday to benefit children with medical problems.
The event, which runs from noon to 10 p.m. at the Eagles Lodge, includes a ham and bean dinner, a Dutch auction, a 50-50 auction, gun drawings, a gun safe raffle and other raffles.
 Proceeds will go to Shriners' research and St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
Donations can be made at First National Bank of Vandalia.
