The owner of a downtown building that was damaged by fire early last year attended last week’s Vandalia City Council meeting to voice his concerns about an alderman’s complaints about that building.
Mayor Rick Gottman quickly ended discussion on the issue when words between that building owner and an alderman became heated.
In two prior meetings, Alderman Dean Black had complained about political signs covering window frames in the former home of the local State Farm agency, and said he’d heard complaints from other residents.
