Critters hitting the Waterin’ Hole Hard…
(or actually, the water tanks), as the grass gets browner, the air gets drier and hotter. The “cowgirls” – Betsy, Geneva (the Bartels girl), “Red” and the two youngsters – are really hitting the waterin’ hole frequently, keeping Papa Bear Bill busy refilling it.
They are also already supplementing their diet with hay, as the pickin’s are just too lean in their pasture now, but they seem to be doing well.
