Brownstown-Sefton News

Bucky, the Burro, Kicking Up His Heels …
… in anticipation of spring? Baby Bucky had been napping in the sunshine and, upon waking up from his nap, he ran and was kicking up his heels in the sunshine. We wondered if he was anticipating, and welcoming, spring, as it was a really nice, warm day.
On the other hand, Katie …
… the doggie, was getting a new heat lamp bulb installed Tuesday, as the snow and wind was bringing bitterly cold drafts across the fields. Katie doesn’t like to be in the house, by the heat, so the next best thing is to take the heat to her.
Sefton Unit HCE Change
The Sefton HCE Sweetheart potluck meeting will be held this Friday at Emmanuel Methodist Church, rather than Thursday, due to a previous reservation of the fellowship room. Meet at 11 a.m., eat at 11:30 a.m.
There will be no Valentines exchange this year.
Fayette County HCE Craft Day …
… will be Feb. 25, at 1 p.m., at the Extension office in Vandalia.
In keeping with the IAHCE theme this year, all the HCE crew members are encouraged “to get on board” and attend, to help make favors for the goody bags for the IAHCE 2016 conference.  There are 500 favors to make, so we need “all hands on deck” to help. If possible, pack a stapler and staples in your duffle bag to bring along.
All Fayette County HCE oars are needed in the water, so please don’t “jump ship” or “mutiny.”
Any questions, contact the captain, Flo Allen, or the C.E. Officer of the Day, Ashley Davis.
