Brownstown-Sefton News
Critter Corner
The Homestead bird feeder has been visited regularly by our little feathered friends, the snowbirds.
We also suspect a woods critter coming by, as twice we have found the “bowl” part of the feeder overturned, as if furry paws may have hung on to the edge of it.
We don’t suspect squirrels, as we have not seen any of them at this location, the north end of the lane, and also, the bird feeder bowl is pretty heavy to be tilted over by a little squirrel. We suspect a raccoon or an opossum.
The skunk(s) that were living down here when we moved in seem to have left the area. We feel a little offended (but glad) that the skunk was uncomfortable living near us, but we wonder if the skunk thought “there goes the neighborhood” when we moved in here.
A recent excursion …
… through the halls of Brownstown Elementary School was again very interesting and informational. If you have occasion to drop into the school, be sure and view the artwork and other materials along the halls.
Also made a brief visit to “the office” of our resident poet/custodian, Dave Arnold, who not only keeps the school maintenance up to snuff, but really, and sincerely, cares about the welfare of our kids and supports the teachers and staff wholeheartedly.
