Brownstown Community Unit Schools will be holding registration for the 2010-11 school year for both the elementary and junior-senior high school on Tuesday, Aug. 10, from 7 a.m.-7 p.m., in the elementary school cafeteria.
Registration will be for the one day only.
All students, including those new to the district and special education students, should register at this time.
Fees for elementary school students in kindergarten through sixth grade will be $60. Junior high and high school fees will be $75, plus $15 for the mandatory purchase of a physical education uniform.
There will be a $50 driver education fee for students taking driver education throughout the school term.
Current physicals and immunization records must be on file in the school office for students in kindergarten, sixth grade and high school freshmen prior to the start of school.
Students without a current physical or up-to-date immunization record will not be allowed to start school on Aug. 19.
Athletes involved in sports activities must have a current physical prior to the start of practice.
All kindergarten students are required to have the chicken pox vaccination.
School will begin with a teacher workshop day on Wednesday, Aug. 18.
Student attendance will begin on Thursday, Aug. 19, at 8:10 a.m., with dismissal at 10:50 a.m. for elementary school students and 11 a.m. for junior-senior high students.
Students will follow a full-day schedule beginning on Friday, Aug. 20.
Special education students and vocational students who attend classes in Vandalia will begin their regular schedule on Monday, Aug. 23.
The Brownstown schools will dismiss early Aug. 20-27, with dismissal times being 1:50 p.m. for elementary students and 2 p.m. for junior-senior high students.
