State funds for the second phase of the Kaskaskia College Vandalia Campus are included in the capital bill approved by the Illinois General Assembly.
State Sen. Kyle McCarter (R-Lebanon) confirmed on Friday evening that the new capital bill awaiting the signature of Gov. Pat Quinn includes $5.6 million for the second phase of the Kaskaskia College Vandalia Campus.
That capital bill also ups the funds for the current phase of the U.S. Route 51 expansion to four lanes from $20 million to $54 million, McCarter said.
McCarter said that while he is skeptical that legislators and Quinn can come to terms on a new budget, he's hopeful that the governor will sign off on the capital bill in the near future.
