Vandalia tied for sixth as a team and freshman Curtis Gordon placed first in the pole vault on Tuesday at Cumberland.
Gordon cleared 14 feet to win, and also placed second in the 110-meter hurdles (16.02). Other second-place finishers for the Vandals were: senior Colton Woolsey, shot put (42-10), and sophomore Ethan Meyer, triple jump (38 feet, 6¼ inches).
Also placing for Vandalia was junior Ben Strobel, who took fourth in the 1,600-meter run (4:55.91).
The Vandals had 52 points. Teutopolis won the meet, with 116.
