Bombers’ pitching outstanding during busy stretch
Bombers lefty Wes Kistler was outstanding for the second game in a row, allowing just one unearned run on four hits in six innings, but Beecher City’s Tyler McKay was even better, as the Eagles edged the Brownstown baseball team Tuesday, 1-0.
McKay allowed just two hits – singles by Levi Tackett and Cody Robbins – in a complete-game effort, as he struck out 15 and walked four.
Kistler struck out seven and allowed no walks, but he took the tough-luck loss for the Bombers (6-6), nonetheless. Austin Miley plated the game’s only run with an RBI single in the fifth, as the Eagles improved to 6-8.
Monday’s Game
Brownstown 3, Windsor 2
Cole Rhodes led off the bottom of the seventh with a walk before stealing second and third, and Dalton Goldsboro followed with a game-winning squeeze bunt, as Brownstown won for the fourth time in five games.
Goldsboro’s squeeze made a winner out of Jared Winters, who allowed just two runs in a complete-game effort. The sophomore righty gave up just two hits and struck out eight, pitching around five walks.
The Bombers found themselves trailing 2-0 before they had a chance to bat, but they immediately countered with a pair of runs of their own in the bottom of the first, as Goldsboro and Winters had RBI hits.
Goldsboro finished 2-for-3 with a double, stolen base and two RBIs. Rhodes swiped three bases and scored two runs, while Carl Sefton was 2-for-3 from the No. 9 spot in the order.

Tyler Lange shut the Bombers out on just four hits, helping the red-hot Indians end Brownstown’s three-game winning streak.
Lange struck out 10 for Altamont in its sixth straight win, as the Indians’ three-run first inning proved to be more than enough.
Goldsboro took the tough-luck loss for the Bombers. The senior righty settled down after a rough opening inning, as he wound up allowing three earned runs on six hits in five innings.
Rhodes was 2-for-3 with a stolen base, while Wes Kistler and Levi Tackett were 1-for-3, but Brownstown couldn’t get a runner past second base.
Thursday’s Game

For the third straight game, the Bombers plated at least 10 runs and got a one-hitter from their starting pitcher in a short-game victory.
Kistler led the way on the mound and at the plate against the Rams, as the senior southpaw struck out 11 and walked none. A third-inning single by Luke Webb was Kistler’s only blemish.
Kistler was perfect at the plate, as he went 4-for-4 with four RBIs – including a bases-loaded double that highlighted a seven-run Bomber explosion in the third.
Goldsboro had two singles, a stolen base and an RBI in that frame alone, as 11 Brownstown batters came to the plate.
Goldsboro finished 3-for-3 at the plate with two runs scored, and Jared Kious was also 3-for-3 with an RBI.

Winters tossed his second straight one-hitter, and Kious’s three-run homer in the fourth inning propelled the Bombers to a lopsided win.
Winters walked one and struck out nine – giving him 19 Ks in his last 10 innings – moving his record to 2-2 on the spring.
Kious finished 2-for-3 with four RBIs, leading a 13-hit Bombers attack.
Winters helped his own cause, going 2-for-3 with two RBIs, including a triple, while Cody Robbins was 2-for-3 and Carl Sefton and Josh Miller had two RBIs apiece.
