Three seniors ended their careers on six-game hitting streaks, but the Bombers lost their first extra-inning game of the season in last Wednesday’s regional semifinal in Altamont.

Seniors Jacob Behrends, Dustin Lawson and Levi Maxey each recorded a hit to extend their season-best hitting streaks, but top-seeded North Clay drew a bases-loaded walk in the bottom of the eighth inning to take a 3-2 win and Brownstown/St. Elmo’s season at 16-10.

North Clay (20-9-1) took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the second, but the Bombers cut that in half in the top of the third.

No runs would score until Maxey roped an RBI double in the top of the seventh.

After a 9-11 record in the fall, the fourth-seeded Bombers started the spring at 4-6. They finished 12-4, however, earning five- and three-game winning streaks along the way.

Senior Dalton Parks also singled in his final game, and freshman Landon Feezel picked up a single.
