The Tri-County Beekeepers Association and the Illinois Queen Initiative invites all fellow and potential beekeepers to enjoy a special presentation by Grant Gillard this Saturday, from 12:30-4 p.m., at Kaskaskia College Vandalia Campus, located at 2310 W. Fillmore St.
Gillard is now a commercial beekeeper, author, speaker, pastor, husband and father. He operates about 200 hives of honeybees in Southeast Missouri, near the town of Jackson.
Gillard will be speaking on topics that include his philosophy of beekeeping, his expansion plans, his books on Producing a “ton” of honey, and using the Nicot System of queen rearing.
He will also be talking about mentoring: the missing piece of beekeeping, and will answer questions from the audience.
This presentation is open to the general public, especially those interested in beekeeping.
Gillard will have books available for purchase, and a free-will offering will be collected to help with travel expenses.
