South Central won the consolation game at the National Trail Conference Tournament in Effingham on Saturday, defeating Neoga, 11-3.
The Cougars scored two runs in the first inning and five more in the second to jump out to an early 7-1 lead and closed out their scoring with one run in the fourth and three more in the fifth.
Trent Geiler got the win, allowing three runs on five hits while striking out four and walking four. He also went 3-for-3 with a home run and scored three times.

South Central advanced to the consolation title game by defeating Brownstown/St. Elmo, 3-2, last Wednesday.
Hunter Brandt got the win for the Cougars, giving up just two hits and a run while striking out five in six innings of work.
Dalton Denton took the loss for BSE, giving up two runs and three hits while striking out one and walking five in three-plus innings of work.
