Tools for School, a program that provides free school supplies for Fayette County students in need, will be in operation at First Presbyterian Church in Vandalia on the following dates and times:
• Wednesday, Aug. 10 – 9 a.m.-7 p.m.
•Thursday, Aug. 11 – 9 a.m.-7 p.m.
• Friday, Aug. 12 – 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
• Saturday, Aug. 13 – 9 a.m.-noon.
The program is open to all students in need in grades K-12.
Those picking up supplies are asked to used the north door of the church, which is located at 1221 W. Fillmore St. The church is handicapped accessible.
All students must accompany a parent or other adult when supplies are picked up.

Fayette County Health Department is offering back-to-school immunization clinics.
Immunizations are required for students entering kindergarten and ninth grade.
Children entering kindergarten usually need Kinrix and M.M.R.V. vaccines. Students entering the ninth grade are required to have Tetanus.
The cost for vaccine administration for children is $23 for the first immunization, then $10 for each additional immunization given that day.
Illinois Department of Public Aid or Kid Care cards are accepted.

A free pre-kindergarten screening for Brownstown children up to age 5 will be held from 8-11:30 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 12, at the Brownstown Elementary School.

Ages and Stages screenings for children up to age 3 will also be available.
