Area teams out in regional semis

None of the area's Class 1A boys basketball teams were able to advance to a regional championship game last week.

Three of the six teams made it into last Wednesday's semifinals, but none of them were able to come away victorious.

At the St. Elmo Regional, the hosts of the event fell in a heart-breaking 37-35 loss to eventual champion Nokomis.

Junior Levi Maxey finished his stellar season with a game-high 21 points to end the season with 500 points (17.2 per game).
