St.Elmo/Brownstown Volleyball
The Lady Eagles continued their perfect run in the EIC tournament last Thursday night, defeating Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City, 25-11, 25-21.
Emily Bone led the way with a team-high seven kills, one ace, five digs and one block. Sarah Maxey had a team-high 19 assits, along with two kills, and four digs.
Other contributors were Madison Carson, with one kill, one assist and two digs;  Brandi Howard, with five kills; Gabi Moore, with five kills, one assist, three aces and six digs; and Tessa Philpot, with one kill and four digs.
The win placed SEB in the EIC tournament championship, where it continued its perfect run with a 25-9, 25-22, win over Christ Our Rock Lutheran.
Leading the championship effort was Moore, with a team-high eight kills, two aces and 11 digs. Maxey had a team-high 17 assists, along with five aces and five digs.
Other scorers were Bone, with seven kills, one assist, one ace and two digs; Carson, with one ace, two digs and one block; Howard, with three kills and one dig; and Philpot, with two kills and nine digs.
The No. 3-seeded Lady Eagles opened up the IHSA 1A playoffs with a regional semifinals win versus Oblong, 25-15, 23-25, 25-17, to advancing them to the regional finals this Thursday.
Emily Bone tied for a team-high with nine kills, two assists, two aces, five digs and two blocks. Gabi Moore also had nine kills, along with two aces and 24 digs.
Also scoring were Brandi Howard with nine kills, one assist, two digs and two blocks; Sarah Maxey with one kill, 30 assists, two aces and five digs; and Tessa Philpot with seven kills, two aces and 13 digs.

South Central Volleyball
The Lady Cougars closed out their regular season last Thursday night, defeating Neoga, 29-27, 25-15, to finish the season with a 25-7 overall record.
Kendall Burleyson led the winning effort with a team-high eight kills, three aces, seven assists and one dig. Emily Chapman had a team-high 11 assists, along with six kills, one stuff and one dig.
Other contributors were Kacie Crain, with one ace, one assist and one dig; Hannah Rubin, with two kills and three digs; Deidra Schaal, with four kills and five digs; and Abbey Garrett, with two kills and three stuffs.
South Central opened up its IHSA 1A play with a regional semifinal match against North Clay. The top-seeded Lady Cougars picked up a 24-26, 25-15, 25-20 win to advance to the regional finals this Thursday.
Emily Chapman recorded a team-high 17 assists, along with four kills, two aces and two digs. Deidra Schaal also had a team-high nine kills, along with seven digs and once ace.
Other contributors were Hannah Rubin, with four kills and five digs; Kacie Crain, with five digs; Kendall Burleyson, with seven kills, 10 assists and two aces; Abbey Garrett, with three kills, one stuff and one ace; and Serena Germany, with seven kills.

Seventh-Grade Basketball

The Lady Vandals fell to 5-7 on the season with a 20-16 loss to Hillsboro last Thursday night.  Bailey Stewart was the leading scorer with 10 points.
On Monday night, Vandalia picked up a 30-15 win over Pana. Morgan Lidy and Stewart were the leading scorers, with 16 and 10, respectively.
The Lady Vandals brought their record to an even 7-7 Tuesday night, defeating Brownstown 26-18. Stewart led the way with 14 points. Lauren Hagy added seven.

Eighth-Grade Basketball
The eighth-grade Lady Vandals fell to 7-5 on the season last Thursday night, falling to Hillsboro 42-13. Laura Miller and Lanee McNary were the Vandals' leading scorers with four and three, respectively.
Monday night, Vandalia picked up a 32-24 overtime win over Pana. McNary led all scorers with 13. Other scorers were Alisha Swain, with eight, Megan Kern, with six, Laura Miller, with four, and Samantha Miller, with one.
The Lady Vandals fell to 8-6 Tuesday night, losing to Brownstown, 28-20. Megan Kern and Alisha Swain were the leading Vandal scorers, with nine and five, respectively.
