Baseball
Senior Levi Maxey had four hits and four RBI, senior Dalton Parks was 3-for-3, with a double, triple and three RBI, and senior Jacob Behrends had a triple, double and four RBI on Monday to lead Brownstown/St. Elmo past Mulberry Grove, 14-9.
BSE had 13 hits in the game, one shy of tying its season-high, and that helped the Bombers (14-9) to an 11-3 lead after four innings.
Mulberry Grove, however, would have a late surge, scoring six times in the final three frames.
Senior Dalton Crisman paced the Aces with three hits – including two doubles – and junior Alex Goodin had a two-run triple.

The Bombers scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh last Friday, but Flora squashed the late comeback in its 6-3 victory.
Three players had two hits for Brownstown/St. Elmo (13-9), but the Bombers struggled against Flora’s Bryce Pearce, who struck out nine and allowed no runs over the first five innings.
Senior Dalton Parks and junior Drake Hall had two hits and an RBI, and freshman Landon Feezel had a double and a single.
Senior Levi Maxey (3-2) took the loss after allowing five runs on seven hits and three walks in four innings. He struck out three, and also had an RBI at the plate.

Softball
Mulberry Grove got revenge on Ramsey last Thursday.
After Ramsey won the Egyptian-Illini Conference matchup in April, the Lady Aces hit five home runs in a windy 17-3 nonconference win.
Senior Kate Jolliff had two of the long balls, and she and junior Karissa Woody hit back-to-back home runs in a six-run second inning.
Also homering were senior Josie Koontz and senior Breann Tompkins.
Koontz, who had five RBI, and junior Kayla Zimmerman both had three hits.
Tompkins earned the win, striking out six in a complete game.

Patoka’s Kyle Adams and Clinton Hood each had two hits, John Houston and Seth Allen had back-to-back bases-loaded walks, and Johnnie Clift struck out nine in a complete-game two-hitter in last Thursday’s 5-1 win against Woodlawn.
Clift allowed four hits and two walks, striking out at least one in every inning but the first. Woodlawn scored in the bottom of the seventh after a pair of doubles.
Patoka (12-9) grabbed the lead in the second, with Shane Cain scoring on a wild pitch, and then added three runs in the third and one in the fourth.
Hood singled, Clift walked and Ryan Miller reached on an error to open the inning with the bases loaded, and Houston and Allen followed with walks, and Adams later had an RBI single.
Clift reached on an error and scored on another error in the fourth.

After a slow start last Wednesday, Patoka scored 11 times in the fourth inning to take a 13-2 win against Sandoval.
Johnnie Clift had a two-run triple to cap the fourth, and Tristan Hull and Ryan Miller both had two RBI in the game.
Sandoval got two runs off of freshman Garrett Belcher in the first inning, but senior Trey Lowery allowed just two singles over the final four innings to earn the win.

Softball
After beating Mulberry Grove in a conference game earlier in the season, the Lady Aces got their revenge last Thursday with a 17-3 win against Ramsey.
Senior Whitney Moreland hit her first home run of the season in a three-run fourth inning, and sophomore Megan Kimberlin had a pair of hits, including a double.
Sophomore Skye Kimberlin added a triple, and freshman Danielle Hill had an RBI single for the Lady Rams (6-16).
Moreland had a tough time in the pitcher’s circle, allowing four home runs in two innings.

The Lady Rams faced their first regional opponent last Wednesday, but will have to hope for a better result once the postseason starts.
Lincolnwood held Ramsey without a run in the first four innings and scored 10 times in the final two frames of a 16-7 victory.
The Lady Rams had just two hits in the first four innings, but had eight in the final three after figuring out Jenna Sale, who struck out three.
Sophomore Megan Kimberlin had a home run and a double, and sophomores Samantha Challans and Monica Fogler both had two hits and two RBI for the Lady Rams (6-15).
Senior Whitney Moreland took the loss, allowing just three earned runs and striking out two in a complete game.

The Lady Eagles closed the National Trail Conference season on a winning note.
St. Elmo/Brownstown avenged a NTC Tournament loss by beating Stew-Stras/Windsor, 8-3, on Tuesday.
Senior Danie Austin had a pair of singles and three RBI to pace the offense, and freshman Morgan Brown double, tripled and scored twice for the Lady Eagles (14-14, 5-2 NTC).
Junior Baylee Scholes earned the win, striking out two and allowed three runs on seven hits and six walks, but stranding several runners throughout the game.
