Anniversary

Donald “Jake” and Georgianne (Edwards) Tompkins of Smithboro will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Sept. 15.

They are the parents of five children: Mark Tompkins and his wife Jill of Pleasant Mound, Barbara and her husband Kent Burns of Coulterville, Nancy and her husband Brian Oberlink of Brownstown, Bradley Tompkins and his wife Jill of Hookdale, and Emily and her husband Paul Thomas of Woburn.
They have 11 grandchildren and a great-grandchild on the way.
An open house will be held in their honor on Saturday, Sept. 15, from 2-4 p.m. at the Pleasant Mound Community Center. They request no gifts.
