Lawler-50 years

Leon and Linda Lawler of rural Mulberry Grove will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary this Saturday.
Leon and the former Linda Washburn were married at Haley Chapel Church in Bluff City.

Their attendants were Janet (VanHorn) Bratton, close friend of the bride, and Larry Lawler, brother of the groom.
Leon is the son of the late Eldon Lawler and the late Josephine Bockstruck. Linda is the daughter of the late Gene Washburn and the late Rochelle Moulton.
Leon worked at Pet Milk Inc. in Greenville for 20 years and also was a grain and livestock farmer all his life, retiring recently from farming. Linda worked at the Vandalia Correctional Center for 33½ years retiring in 1998, and continued helping in the farming operation.
Leon was in the Army from 1966-68. He was stationed in Okinawa, and Linda joined him for more than a year.
