Ross and Carolyn Kershaw of Vandalia will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Monday, Nov. 1, with a family celebration hosted by their daughter.
Ross and the former Carolyn Probst were married on Nov. 1, 1960, in Vandalia. Their attendants were Gracie Carmen and Frank Revisky.
Carolyn is the daughter of the late Irvin and Marian Probst. She is a retired homemaker. Ross is the son of the late Cecil W. and Helen Kershaw. He is retired from Ameren.
They have five children: Tim and his wife Anne Kershaw, Jeff and his wife Cindy Kershaw, Elizabeth and her husband Kevin Elam, Chris and his wife Julie Kershaw, and Patrick Kershaw and fianceé Wendy Rine, all of Vandalia.
They have 11 grandchildren: Trevor and Chad Elam, and Logan, Olivia, Emma, Kaitlyn, Ashlyn, Ryan, Holly, Makayla and Hannah Kershaw.
The couple requests no gifts.
