A fast-pitch softball team featuring several local players won the Teutopolis Invitational on July 16. Altamont Home Center was 4-1 in the tournament, winning the championship game against Teutopolis KC's, 10-0.
Anthony Grobengieser was named the tournament's Most Valuable Player, after hitting two home runs and having several other hits, and Jarred Simmons was named the Most Valuable Pitcher, after going 3-1 and pitching the championship game.
Following the tournament, Altamont's record moved to 21-12, and The Home Center returns to action on Friday at the ASA Wooden Bat Tournament in Vandalia at 7 p.m.
