All of Friday's area hoops games cancelled/postponed

All local high school boys basketball games scheduled for Friday, Feb. 1, have been postponed due to heavy snowfall.

The VCHS girls basketball team's regular-season finale at Altamont has also been cancelled and will not be rescheduled, due to postseason play beginning next week.

The Lady Vandals (21-4) were hoping for a chance to break the program's single-season wins record against the Lady Indians, but will now have to wait until Thursday's Vandalia Regional semifinal contest against Effingham-St. Anthony for a shot to make history.
