90th Birthday

Family members from Ohio, Missouri and Illinois gathered at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Dale Aukamp in Vandalia to help Gerald Aukamp celebrate his 90th birthday.

They started gathering on Thursday, April 18. Those visiting included Bryan Aukamp of Missouri; Joyce Faye Smith and Jamie Farr, Mike Aukamp and daughter Mick, Ty and Le Ann Aukamp and daughters Jordan and Karsyn, Lauren Neuenschwander, and Michale Smith and daughter Mackenzie, all of Ohio; Mr. and Mrs. Kevin Aukamp, and Kyle Aukamp and girlfriend, all of Vandalia; and Devin Aukamp and son Carter of Patoka. It had been some time since Gerald had seen some of his nieces and nephews, so several hours were spent talking about memories of the older ones and making new memories with the younger ones. On Saturday afternoon, April 20, Mr. and Mrs. Merle Aukamp, and Craig Aukamp and daughter Lydia of Belleville joined the group for the birthday dinner.
